The eight armies in Footmen Wars Online are real armies from history, from knights and samurai to Aztecs and Egyptians. These pages put them side by side, two at a time, with what they carried, what they wore and how they fought, and a source for every fact.

How we answer
Most of these armies never met, and the ones that did met late, on someone else's terms. So each page starts with when and where they really fought, then compares weapons, armor and tactics from the sources, and only then gives our honest read of who would win and when. The read is ours. The facts under it are cited.
