Where to play Footmen Frenzy and footmen games in 2026

Reforged Footmen Frenzy, in Warcraft III: Reforged

The real thing, and the biggest crowd. You need a copy of Warcraft III: Reforged; then find the map in the custom games list. The featured page lists weekly tournaments on Thursdays and Fridays on the Americas server, and in-house games in Europe all day.¹ The map's Discord is at tiny.cc/footmen, and its leaderboard is on wc3stats.²

Best for: veterans who own Warcraft III and want Footmen Frenzy itself, with its 70+ heroes and the people who still play it.

Epic War hosts the 7.8.9 map file (20.91 MB, made for game version 1.36.2).² The Reforged map database lists every footmen map in one category, including versions with AI opponents such as Footman Frenzy 6.9 AI Plus.⁵ We link to these sites and never host the maps ourselves.

Best for: a private lobby with friends, or practice against the computer.

The classic Frozen Throne line

The NoHunters versions that ran through the 2000s are still described on StrategyWiki, which names 6.5e as the current version.⁶ The clan's own site is gone, and its address now belongs to an unrelated site, so use archived copies only.⁷

Best for: anyone who wants the version they played in 2006.

Footmen Frenzy XV

Shadowdestroyer's XV, a NoHunters-based fork with extra heroes, was still being streamed in 2026.⁸

Best for: players who liked the older line and want more heroes.

W3Champions

The W3Champions client had a Footmen Frenzy ladder in 2021,⁹ and hosted a tournament that played Custom Hero Footies.¹⁰ We could not confirm the ladder still runs, so check before you install.

Best for: ranked players, if the ladder is still up.

Don't Feed, on Steam

A standalone game by Ravinia that names Footman Frenzy as an inspiration. Four players, free for all, units spawn at the bases, and no heroes. It is in Early Access, and 72% of its 79 Steam reviews were positive when we looked.¹¹

Best for: a standalone PC game today, if you don't need heroes or teams.

The Dota 2 port (gone)

Footmen Frenzy for Dota 2, by Izo, Noya and MMM, had 184,477 subscribers, but Steam has removed it, so it can't be played.¹²
